Pre-Production: Storyboard

Image
What do your preliminary storyboards look like for the film? You should include at least a few storyboarded shots. This is what our groups storyboard looks like. Just by looking you can tell the film will take place outside, mostly likely in the evening or night (because the street lights are on). You can see there will be 5 characters in the film opening, and maybe even one extra creepy character.

Pre-Production: Sound

Will you record any sounds during production (dialogue, ambient sound, etc.)? If so, how? Will you record sounds in-camera or using a separate audio recording system? There will be dialogue during production. Our opening will contain dialogue amongst the actors. I am planning to add some background music after production and add it during editing. The sounds will be in-camera including a separate system.

Pre-Production: Actor & Preparation

Who will act in your film, if anyone? Why? What considerations do you need to make for scheduling and preparing your actors for production? Everyone that is part of production will be the actors in the movie. There's only one person who isn't part of production that will be acting. The schedule is going to have to be well though out, due to the fact that there are 5people and the schedule has to be approved by everyone (the time, place, days of shooting etc.). The schedule will probably be the hard part but the preparing the actors shouldn't be bad. The preparation of the actors will probably just be making sure we have the script memorized (shouldn't be hard because we wrote it.) and we are in depth with the character we are playing so it can be believable. We also need to wear the right apparel. That's basically it, nothing too dramatic but it will take some thinking and planning to finally start production.

Film Pitch

What production company are you pitching to? Establish this first so that we know what perspective to consider your film from. The production company we are pitching to is Blumhouse Production. What is the title of your film? The name of our film "Tricks Are For Kids" Why do you think this production company would be a good fit to make your film? Because the production produced a lot of horror movies that we still watch till this day. Like Insidious, Get Out, one of the new ones I watched was The Invisible Man. All well produced movies that I loved watching (besides Get Out never watched it, just an example). What films has the company made that are similar to yours? The Hunt is a bit similar but roles reversed. Does the “brand” of your film align with some of the other films this company has made? It somewhat does, other movies on there, of course they have horror, but ours might be a little different since it's kids doing it.
